And it is all of those things.

But at its core, psychological safety is a leadership behavior, modeled, reinforced, and sustained through how leaders show up, especially when it matters most.

In the first two newsletters in this series, we explored what psychological safety is and why it is foundational to performance, particularly in high-stakes environments like healthcare. We examined how it is tested in moments of tension, where disagreement and complexity require leaders to hold space for candor without losing focus on outcomes.
